MAY
BE ONE MINISTRIES This is a strong area in many church and para-church organisations already. The challenges for us all are:
What about a second reformation? What
about helping mobilisation with a
"2nd REFORMATION PRAYER AGENDA"
This is designed to help focus bible study,
prayer, preaching, conversation and pioneering development and
implementation across the board.
Constitutional Restoration
For God-honouring adherence to the
Australian Constitution and true federalism. Whatever doesn't fit
the preamble principles and the requirements for not serving foreign
powers (Section 44), pursuing "peace, order and good government"
(Section 51) and freedom of religion (Section 116) is to be avoided
or removed at all costs, particularly that which might lead to
tyranny of the State over the sovereignty and freedom of the
individual.
Fight
For Freedom
For true open-mindedness and justice based
on freedom of thought, speech and action - both secular and
religious - free of State-based coercion of any kind and any unfair
or biased media content
Protect Our Culture
For
protection of our Judeo-Christian heritage, culture and time-tested
values that founded Western civilisation, this nation and for what
our soldiers died to protect
Protect Families and Children
From the religion of secular humanism and
its web of anti-God beliefs, values, morality, authoritarianism and
social engineering practices designed to glorify man, not God
(despite the lessons from history that this strategy does not work).
In particular, to stop the promotion of homosexuality, gender
fluidity and anti-family ideas in schools and the intimidation,
bullying and offensive behaviour of this religion to Christians and
all others who oppose their views and are seen as standing in their
way
Insist on Integrity
Across the board - for individuals,
organisations and particularly for politicians and all political
parties
Party
Reform
For a groundswell of people with character,
courage and vision to run for office at all the three tiers of
government to help focus more on the public good rather than the
self-absorption of politicians and parties on power, recognition and
financial favour
People Power
For
grass-roots change involving education, encouragement and
empowerment of local people for greater civic responsibility,
political involvement and performance assessment - so that we have
true democracy for, of and by the people for the best outcomes for
the public good and future generations
Localism
For devolution of power and responsibility
from the Commonwealth and State government to local and regional
government levels - who have a better understanding of local needs
on all fronts and the most effective service delivery mix required
to meet those needs, rather than centralised "one-size-fits-all"
Church
For greater inter-denominational cooperation and salt and light witness in the entire public sphere (parties, governments, organisations, communities, media etc) on all issues, based on the Word of God and illustrated by the personal character, integrity and lifestyle of those kinds of leaders who led the first Reformation.
